I bought what I though was a new book. It has a publication date of 2000. It is about stock photography, has 250 pages & 200 of them on how to set up your own specialized online stock photo company. The author of this book had a business for 40 years. The information he provides in this book seems horribly out of date. He states that you can make a good living if you find a niche with your own copyrighted photographs. I think this may be true if I started 40 years ago, but it seems out of date. Do you think his advice pretty much worthless nowadays, since photography has gone online and digital? I think it probably is, and I want my money back. In fact, I have found that just about every marketing book about photography, that was published before 2005 is out of date. Do you agree with this?

Marketing Management & Sales – I am a current graduate with an Associate degree. I would be the most perfect attribute for new business ideas, and marketing strategies. I would like to open a small boutique in TN, that fills a niche that is currently void in our town. I plan to sell moderate-better fashion accessories, gift items, and contemporary home decor. I have many, many years of experience in ladies’ retail, both in management & purchasing. I need help though, with start-up funding. I can not obtain a loan through regular channels because of prior credit issues that I was left saddled with after a sour divorce. I havenot been able to find grant that fund start-up for a small retail business. I recently saw Fundraiser 1.0 on a website, but I am not really sure how it works. I do not have a website for my company yet, is that needed for Fundraiser 1.0? Has anyone reading this had success with it? If so, can you explain how it works? Or, do you have contacts for angel investors or grants? I will be located in an established gallery, the only overhead would be minimal rent, inventory, taxes, & marketing. Gallery furnishes all else, even the paid salespeople. I would be free to concentrate on growing my business by starting out in this location.

I am into affiliate marketing and I used to sell on eBay (so I know how to find hot niche products) so I am wondering if the build a niche store software is any good? Sounds good and I just came across an article that can show me how to use it. So if anyone is using it, please let me know.

I just got started in commercial insurance, property & casualty, risk management, workers comp, etc. I have been told I need to find a niche to specialize in and go after it. My goal obviously is to find a market that will compensate extremely well. Thanks
